Utrechts Heuvelland nominated for the WLA awards 2022
For the World Landscape Architecture Awards, Flux has been shortlisted in two categories. From over 240 entries worldwide, Flux has been selected for the Conceptual- Design category and the Conceptual- Analysis & Planning category.
In the category Conceptual- Analysis & Planning the plan Utrechts Heuvelland is nominated: a spatial future perspective developed for the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. There are national ambitions to strongly increase the amount forest in the Netherlands, but it is not yet clear where these forests can be realized and what they will look like. This design research investigates how new forests can be realized on and around the Heuvelrug and at the same time contribute to relieving the pressure on the Heuvelrug. The starting point of the spatial vision is to show how the planting of new forests or tree structures can contribute to the biggest challenges on the Heuvelrug.

The Baak Amsterdam in progress
The design of Flux for De Baak in Amsterdam is in progress. The plan focuses on greenery, collectivity and views from all sides. By embedding De Baak in the landscape, the building will stand in the park. This reinforces the presence of the park and transforms the fragmentation into more unity. A logical whole is created that shows how buildings and park go together in the Westelijke Tuinsteden. Commissioned by Kondor Wessels and in collaboration with OZ Architects, De Wijde Blik, Pieters Bouwtechniek and Arcadis.
Commissioned by the municipality of The Hague, Flux has developed a vision for the Zuiderpark. Just as in the 1930s, the Zuiderpark is on the eve of major changes. In the coming years, 10.000 new homes will be built in the surrounding districts, which will increase the pressure on the park considerably. At the same time, the importance of the park for climate adaptation and biodiversity is also increasing. This requires a review of the Zuiderpark. Flux has developed a vision which encounters climate, safety, health and quality of life.
