Spatial Vision of the Noordoostpolder

Commissioned by the Province of Flevoland, Flux worked on the vision for the Noordoostpolder. The Noordoostpolder is a landscape monument. New challenges in agriculture, such as scaling-up and chain extension, are in need of reflection. For instance, are these trends a danger or an opportunity for the Noordoostpolder? In this design research, Flux examined what the Noordoostpolder needs to accommodate these changes and what values can be offered in terms of liveability, cultural history, accessibility, biodiversity, utility value, amenity value and climate.

Commissioned by the Province of Flevoland and part of the Stimuleringsfonds Programma Toekomstbestendig Landelijk Gebied and of the publication Transities!

Zuiderpark The Hague winner of the WLA Honour Award 2022

With the project Zuiderpark The Hague Flux has won the WLA Honour Award 2022! Over more than 240 submissions worldwide were submitted, whereby Flux had been selected in the category Conceptual-Design. After selection for the longlist, the plan was honoured with the Honour Award. Flux has designed a spatial vision for the Zuiderpark in The Hague. The pressure on the park will increase considerably in the coming years as 10,000 homes will be built in the surrounding neighbourhoods. At the same time, the importance of the park for climate adaptation and biodiversity is increasing. This calls for a revision of the Zuiderpark. Flux has developed a vision in which encounter, climate, safety, health and liveability are central.

Zuiderpark vision was commissioned by the municipality of The Hague
