Jonas Papenborg and Gerwin de Vries are guiding a design studio to third-year landscape architecture students of the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. The course contains a study of the metabolism of the city of Amsterdam, related to the wedges of Amsterdam.
Flux is working on a design research for the future of recreation in the landscapes of North Holland. Flux will visualize how recreative uses of different landscapes will look now and in the future, taking into account the transitions of food, energy and climate. Commissioned by Steven Slabbers, Provinciaal Adviseur Ruimtelijke Kwaliteit.
Commissioned by AM Ontwikkeling, Flux is designing the outdoor spaces of Highnote Almere, a new building designed by Studioninedots. The building includes a large open plinth connected to an industrial wharf, a green courtyard and a collective rooftop garden.
Flux landscape architecture has been selected by Rijkswaterstaat for this assignment and will work in the coming period on creating a spatial vision, landscape plan and EPVE for the Sluis II Tilburg at the Wilhelminakanaal.
Mayke Baltussen and Gerwin de vries guided a design studio for 2nd year students of the HKU Urban Design. The course examined a study of a new design for the public space of Rotsoord in Utrecht.
As of March 16, a large part of the Flux team will be working from home because of the Corona virus. A small part of the team lives close to Flux and will probably be in the office. Flux remains available by phone on 030 3031094. We continue to work on all projects and also strive to ensure that Flux projects continue as much as possible. A digital communication system is set up on the basis of video conference. In the current projects we will solve communication with partners and clients digitally by e-mail, telephone or video conference. We hope that this will help prevent the spread of the virus and improve the situation.
The preferred alternative for the Grebbedijk in Wageningen has been presented. An important characteristic is the creation of a stepped dike profile for the Grebbedijk. The stepped dike profile will provide more space for pedestrians on the dike and to enable a walk from the Grebbedijk to Wageningen. For more information: website Grebbedijk
For this assignment of Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) Flux has been doing research on energy landscapes of the future, related to what opportunities these landscapes provide for RWS. Flux researched highways, the sea, the delta and the rivers.
