Flux went on excursion in Utrecht. The team has looked at several projects like the allotment gardens of the Hoge Weide, the surrounding of the Dafne Schippersbrug and the Maximapark. Lots of design inspiration for new projects!
TiZa-dreven Overvecht
The design team Flux and KCAP is working on a vision to improve the TiZa-dreven (the Zambesibuurt and the Tigrisbuurt around Park de Gagel) at Overvecht Utrecht. The team has thought of multiple ideas to build houses, to include nature and create more spaces to sport and play and to provide for extra public services. In the vision the team is researching for improvements of the public space in the project area around the existing housing, the current park and the potential of Park the Gagel as new city park for Utrecht. At the same time the team is exploring how urban density, the edges and the spacial interpretation around and of the park can be improved.

Laurierkwartier is more than just a place for living
Mayke Baltussen, landscape designer and project manager at Flux, has been interviewed by the firm Stek about Laurierkwartier: A fine green and sustainable place in the city, that’s Laurierkwartier nearby Leidsche Rijn Centrum. In the interview Mayke tells about the carefully chosen design and planting of the courtyard, which not only connects residents, but also makes a connection between birds, butterflies and other insects.
In collaboration with Mei architects and commissioned by DUWO, Flux will work on several courtyards and rooftop gardens in the upcoming period. This will be for two different building blocks in the Sluisbuurt Amsterdam, in which climate and biodiversity occupy centre stage in the design.
In the upcoming period, Flux is going to work on the spatial vision for the Zuiderpark in The Hague. The park characterizes itself by a distinctive history, a varied use and richness in atmospheres. In the future the park will become more important as the urban densification continues. Therefore the park needs a qualitative impulse, fitting its existing character.
